  • Why do we sing?

"Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts." Colossians 3:16

  • why do we play musical instruments?

"Praise him with a blast of the ram's horn; praise him with the lyre and harp! Praise him with the tambourine and dancing; praise him with strings and flutes! Praise him with the clash of cymbals; praise him with loud clanging cymbals." Psalm 150:3-5

  • why do we clap our hands?

The act of clapping our hands is a form of praise which is mentioned frequently in Scripture.

"Come, everyone! Clap your hands! Shout to God with joyful praise!"

    Psalm 47:1

  • why do we lift our hands?

"In every place of worship, I want men to pray with holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy." 1 Timothy 2:8

  • What is prophecy and how is it used?

Prophecy is a supernatural utterance from God in an understood or known tongue.

"But one who prophesies strengthens others, encourages them, and comforts them." 1 Corinthians 14:3

"Let love be your highest goal! But you should also desire the special abilities the Spirit gives - especially the ability to prophesy."

  • why do we pray for the sick

    and anoint with oil?

"Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven." James 5:14-15

  • why do we practice laying on of hands?

"As the sun went down that evening, people throughout the village brought sick family members to Jesus. No matter what their diseases were, the touch of his hand healed every one." Luke 4:40

"Then when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in other tongues and prophesied." Acts 19:6
